The net loss was 200M and increased two fold compared to last year. Thinking of buying stocks but I wanted hear from fellow blinders where do you think this company headed and potential? I have read through their engineering posts lol but more interested in trajectory of the company and if they are positioning themselves to be bought by Walmart or Amazon in the future.
I would not buy.
No.
Run, they sent out an email this week that employees need to be more frugal. Keep in mind our benefits are FAR below even Amazon already. They donāt have a solve for the mounting losses, classic pump and dump strategy for the execs.
I'm optimistic about the long term future of the company. It's positioned itself in an unique space for logistics with large parcels and the specialization in to furniture translates into a larger barrier of entry. Ultimately, I think an acquisition by Alphabet makes the most amount of sense, enabling Google shopping to finally kick things into high gear.
Do you think alphabet would largely scrap and/or refactor all the code?
Yes. And there would be a plan on how that would be done, step by step, explained by a technical leader at an engineering all hands in person with a proper Q&A session.
We'll see leaders (new and existing) take charge during these times especially because there are plenty of opportunities which exist.
