Waymo / Self-Driving

How is Waymo doing these days? Will they be the first to level 5 automation? Will they need Lyft or Uber’s network of riders to fill their 20,000 new vehicles? What does Waymo gain from these partnerships with Lyft and Uber? Will Waymo simply crush the competition when they get the critical number of miles they need? Will Waymo buy Lyft for it’s network? Who will win the self-driving market?

Waymo will be the Supplier for autonomous tech. Already partnered with Chrysler, Honda and jaguar .. and could be many more EV startups in Bay Area and China. They don’t need to buy the services like Lyft, but automakers will use the self-driving technology like dell,Lenovo etc OEM use windows OS.

Everyone is partnered with everyone in noncommittal relationships. It doesn't mean anything.

I think 5G, V2V and I2V (Infrastructure to Vehicle) standards and tech will be the biggest enablers of level 4/ level 5 autonomy
