Have an offer from Waymo, but still on the fence about leaving my position. Can anyone tell what Waymo refreshers look like at L4? If I join now will I be eligible for refreshers this year? Waymo TC: 205k + paper money (280k / 4 years) Current TC: 190k + paper money (500k / 4 years) at 10B (lol) valuation YOE: 1 (PhD) #waymo #aurora #cruise #nuro

They're pretty comparable to Google refreshers overall I'd say.
Do you think Aurora will beat Waymo? That’s really all you need to decide
If you think Waymo is generating significant enough revenue using a 7x7mi geofence in Phoenix to fully justify their $20-30B valuation, esp in the context of their massive yearly cash burn, you’d be mistaken. That being said, make the jump if you feel like you have better learning or professional opportunities. This should be more important with only 1YOE.
Perhaps (actually most def) not. But here's the thing - 1) They've demonstrated (and are the only ones to) that geofenced AVs are possible. 2) They have a much better technical advantage over other companies due to Google 3) They are valued at a reasonable rate compared to other hotshot valuations who have not delivered anything yet 4) I think it'd also be easier for them to pivot to revenue sourced streams over pure autonomy (if it gets to that point) than others. Curious to know your thoughts.
No doubt they’re the furthest along and will likely be the first to deploy at scale. Hopefully they’ll get there eventually. I was simply suggesting that all these crazy valuations (even Aurora’s) given the lack of any significant revenues require some skepticism. Agree with 1 and 3. Don’t know about 2 and 4, only Waymo folks can answer that :).
Cruise is cruising at $30B lol
Is the “TC” you listed just base salary, base salary + target bonus, base salary + signing bonus, or base salary + both bonuses?
I am in Lyft L5 and thinking of doing the jump to Waymo myself. How was their interview? Their offer looks solid, my bet is they will IPO first over other AV startups.
I don't think Waymo will IPO until a steady revenue stream is in place. Interview was easy, leetcode, system design and some behavorial. Lol you should leave L5 asap, even Anantha left.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I'm curious why you want to leave Aurora.
I'm feeling more and more that the ATG merger didn't go well and isn't going to go well.
Yes, I thought that might be it. Could you be more specific about your concerns?
