Considering a principal UX role at Chegg. Seems to be lots of good feedback on Glassdoor and otherwise. Lots of people who stay a long time and have good things to say about the culture. Pay looks to be good too. Anything I'm missing? Any thoughts on working there in general or on the design team? Thanks!#design #ui/ux TC 165k 9 yoe
Sorry I can’t help, but I thought they were called Thinkful?
UX team is good; company is growing. They don’t have any cash bonus, so make sure to negotiate higher base.
What is TC like?
Design is told largely what to do on quick timelines. You have to plaster ads over most surfaces. It’s not the design capital of the tech industry, that’s for sure.
Can confirm based on experience at design earlier
The company encourages and somewhat pushes for 5 star reviews on Glassdoor after your first week of on boarding so a lot of reviews are premature. The key decision makers are the c office folks. Maybe just a couple of vps and heavy favoritism for the israel office.
Who uses the service ?
Well students mostly I presume. I haven't really had deeper conversations about the product, roadmap, TAM, etc. But if things go well I will. I think it started as textbooks and is expanding to become a broader education assistance resource.
Yeah I would double click on the product, revenue and potential. They went IPO and not sure where they went.
