If you are a wealthfront user, how do your returns look like for this year? And what's your portfolio split? For me: Time weighted returns: 13.8% Split: US stocks(44%) and rest divided equally (foreign, dividend growth, and emerging market) #personalfinance #investments
Nada. I removed money out of wealthfront and bought vti and i am 23%
You could buy vti there. Why did you move out your money if you don’t mind me asking?
Probably to avoid the fee. My understanding is their direct indexing approach provides good harvested losses that makes their fee worth it. Was this not your experience?
13% seems reasonable for a diversified and balanced portfolio. S&P500 is around 26% but around 12 stocks are driving the growth so it’s very risky. You are well positioned for the mid cap, international and emerging market growth next year as well as limiting the correction if you are taking some bonds at the time. Similar strategy on my side with my wealth management, but certainly more expensive than your wealth front fee.
Just under 13% and more fees than what they saved me from tax loss harvesting. Seems like a bad deal to me.
Do you have enough assets to participate in their Direct Indexing? They say this provides better tax loss harvesting.
I started using Wealthfront from past 3-4 months (after Robinhood gambling during the pandemic). The returns are nearly 10%, but I am loving it. It's not wise to compare with S&P500 or VTI because Wealthfront is diversifying across different asset classes, not only US stocks. I think it's best for passive investors who believe in low risk for long term.
Tbh i dont know if that level of diversification helps. I was almost down 50% on wealth front in march 2020 where as my two fund 401k was only down 25% and now 401k has better returns.
15.56% for 2021. It would’ve been much higher but I spent a bulk of the year investing in emerging markets & foreign developed funds. I just recently allocated more $ to growth stocks, dividend paying, and $DRIV (global stocks)
