Just started working at a large tech company. Wondering about if etiquette when it comes to wearing hoodies with another companies logo. For example it's not a competitor, it's a utility software we use internally for alerts.
I always do that, nobody cares
It's ok just don't do it everyday
Check company policy
Lol who cares, if they did theyâd mandate a dress code
Lol you use the software and you're worried about supporting their brand via wearing their clothes?
The general consensus here isnât as important as the minority view. Clearly the answer is that most people wonât care, but a few will. You need to think about who those few are likely to be, and what the impact of them caring is. For me that question is complicated and unpredictable enough that I simply wouldnât risk it. The risk is probably really small, but itâs just a hoodie. Get one from Ralph Lauren instead, itâll be a much nicer hoodie anyway.
Never wear any tech swag ever under any circumstances. Fuckin goobers
Ok to wear swag from your old startup. đ
No one cares. The amount of people I see wearing Google swag at Facebook is unreal
For bonus points, wear swag from a direct competitor
