Interviewing at Goldman - being asked for client info

Hey all. Currently interviewing at Goldman for a position in global markets division. Finished the 3rd round today and then received a call from the hiring manager to have me send over 3 specific names of people at the clients I speak with in my current role. They want to reach them directly to ask for feedback but this could easily come back to my current employee I think and turn bad.

This seems to be a weird ask given they are a competitor and it gives insight into the clients and specific traders I work with.

Any tips on how to proceed here? Is Goldman fishing for competitor info without an intention to hire? Should I share this info or is that against policy?

Currently an associate at current employer.
