Yeah I stopped using these food delivery apps altogether. I walk to whichever restaurant I want to get the food from, and burn some of the calories Iβm about to eat on the way. The food is 30% less expensive when you buy it in person too.
Yeah then they'll give you less of something, or not give you the complementary side on purpose. Perhaps even delay your order on purpose. Some restaurants do that.
I bought Uber One (Uber's pass in the US) this month just for Uber Eats and found out today that not all restaurants, including my last night's order, are covered.
The restaurant doesn't charge more. Uber/Doordash charges the restaurant ~15% on top of all the fees they charge the customer, and that's the price difference you see.
