What age do you think you will slow down in terms of chasing higher TC and professional growth and be okay with resting and vesting for the remainder of your working career? Also share why at that age, e.g., hit target TC, achieved career goals/accomplishments, life event, etc. For me, I’m actually not sure at 40 y/o and still going strong.
35
Once I have kids
But doesn’t having kids make you want to increase your TC to support the added expenses?
Hmm, cant say how a parent thinks. I am not even married yet 😂😅
Not sure if my answer is “I already am” or “I never will” but I’m at a sustainable level of work and growth. 28 y/o
This^ I'm 24 - yoe 4, tc 240k I don't care about career growth or more tc
24 and 28 is super young and far from reaching anywhere near max potential, don’t you think? Or are you saying work is not where you want to invest your efforts/energy? Maybe things change if lifestyle needs require higher TC like kids?
Once I am FIRE.
Never
I respect that
When I had my first child at 33. I was an L6 at Amazon. Still grew professionally, but just on a longer timeline since I was no longer willing to put the extra hours in beyond 8-5.
Early teens.
I have always coasted. Still have exceeds expectations everywhere I go. So I would say from birth.
Less about age and more about level. Once I’m L5B (staff) I won’t chase promotions anymore and I can start coasting.
