What are the best <300 person startups in the Bay Area?

Looking to make a switch after 4+ years at Uber. Who is doing cool stuff, has good leadership, growth and folks feel like the company has a bright future?

SoFi is on that list. 😏🍆💦💦💦

Salesforce WeRFamily Sep 29, 2017

How many of those are dead?

Reddit Mvsi68 Sep 28, 2017

Breakout list startups are one place to start looking (Reddit is one)

Hitachi Vantara iotpm Sep 28, 2017

I don't know about Reddit. Feel like growth has stagnated and monetization still seems to be a challenge

Microsoft 🔥⚡️ Sep 28, 2017

Menlo Security is pretty badass

Nextdoor shortones Sep 28, 2017

Nextdoor. We’re around 200 and it’s an exciting time to join. Lots of opportunity

check out Anki

Apple pch053 Sep 28, 2017

Anki is good; they are doing cool stuff and some people I have conversed with seemed very nice to work with. I don’t k ow their current size though but probably less than 300.

Love Anki software

Plaid

What's cool about them?

Microsoft 🔥⚡️ Sep 28, 2017

Seemingly every financial institution with online banking uses Plaid APIs to allow customers to login. From credit unions to RobinHood to Stripe and Venmo. They are growing like crazy in every area

Housecanary, and not just because I work there.

Nextdoor shortones Sep 29, 2017

Can you elaborate why it’s good? Haven’t heard of the company before

Uber DaraK Oct 2, 2017

+1 why is it good?

Eaze YCKd35 Sep 28, 2017

Eaze. Company revenue is taking off, leadership is experienced and making good moves, your coworkers and managers are chill, just raised a round. Also Uber experience is highly relevant.

Square anon98163 Sep 28, 2017

I've heard horror stories from disgruntled CSMs at eaze. Their tech isn't impressive either. They went with react native just because their contractor was an ex-Facebooker and no one thought to question it.

Eaze YCKd35 Sep 29, 2017

There's definitely some company history that would spawn those horror stories, but those days are mostly past. Tech stack is def needing some love, but that's what happens when you hit immediate product market fit with an MVP - gotta run with it. It's also gotten a lot better in the last year. And that isn't how the react native decision went down at all. RN choice has actually proven to be a really good investment given our dev resources.

Talkdesk b5&s4# Sep 28, 2017

Talkdesk. CEO is visionary, and we're crushing it with 1000% growth this year. Comp is low, but we'll be worth so much one day, it won't matter. Also, we have the best fake reviews on glassdoor!

Talkdesk HEuJ23 Sep 29, 2017

Ai ai ai.. (both meanings) 🤣

Uber sftech Sep 30, 2017

Hilarious. Growth is a lie. 4th VP of sales just left, and the Talkdesk CEO is anything but visionary...
