Hey team! Interviews are not the same everywhere and this is also true for the behavior/culture fit/manager round. What are the trickiest or the most difficult questions and types of answer that make you bomb that round?
I can’t think of any but it’s a red flag for me to not be able to explain why they want to apply to the company X
“What are your thoughts about that casting couch over there?”
I don’t know. Do you want to do some unit testing on it?
Or performance test if you prefer.
"Tell me about a time when you had to deliver an innovative solution to a problem?" - this fucks people up because they can never baseline Innovative. "Tell me about a time when you disagreed with your manager?" - people too often pick ones where their manager was wrong and they were right. This often isn't the signal wanted. It's more about how you disagree and what you learned about influencing.
To add. My favourite hard question is "if you had a magic wand and could change anything about a previous role, what would it be and why?" I only ask this to senior (L6) people and have had the full range of dogshit ("uhhh reporting") to amazing ("I drove bad culture, I tried to fix it by doing xyz, this didn't work, so I did xyz which improved it by a lot, but I wouldn't make the same mistake again")
If you don't want the signal then the question needs to be more specific. When you disagreed and got it wrong
If serious interviewers could answer here it'd be gold mine for us juniors
Your weakness. Most people just ramble answering that. It's not the greatest question, but still a good one
Public speaking. Easy peasy
Not bad. Unless you are senior and you are expected to address a somewhat sizeable public
How many windows are there in a city?
Biggest failure/weakness is a tricky one. Many ways to bomb it. - Not being genuine - Focusing too much on the negative - Picking something that would raise concerns
Authenticity is incredibly difficult to fake.
I'll also add not being clear about what you learned
Why are you looking for change? Once you explain it interviewer asking the same question for all previous switches 😭
What is your greatest weakness and what you have done to improvise on it
Improve* lol
Haha , still improvising 😉
Following
Good for you.
The lack of common sense among these “following” idiots is appalling
