Access to a new demographic that they didn't have before.
I just keep wondering if it will work well enough, in regards to the latency problem for streaming and receiving inputs. Really neat initiative though
I did project stream and it played well, but it won't replace pc enthusiast gaming. 60fps cap, no ultrawide support, harder to macro (grey area or black). Takes up a good amount of data too, so it will be limited to who can use it stably.
data is the big thing. If you can only play at home, console is cheaper.
The main target is casual gamers, folks that don't own a console.
I think it will be good and Google is getting on it a TV the right time. I tried it when they did the beta and it was quite good
Google thinks they only need build it and people will come. There's an arrogance there that makes it difficult for them to consider marketing or content acquisition,/partnerships. Until they figure this out, they're going to struggle in areas like this.
When google ll discontinue it!
Money machine or the sophisticated gaming experience? Stadia wants the former. Plus, Stadia is the Google induced demand for Google Cloud.
latency and problems stemming from ownership bother me too much to use it, a big problem they’ll come across is a HUGE demographic does not have a broadband connection capable of delivering a good result. I could see some one-off hits if somebody takes advantage of the clients all being on the same network (truly massive multiplayer is possible) but it will not appeal to the mass market, its simply not possible that it would.

ByteDance is officially fucked
Too early to tell. It’s not like it is first of kind. Onlive, Gaikai came and went. Parsec, Nvidia, playstation offering is there now. And microsoft xcloud is coming soon.
