Preferably in the Seattle area... please help. I am dying. Someone told me I should apply to Cisco tier companies since I can't get into FAANG. I just want a normal job, not bodyshop craziness. I'm also American.
IBM
Bruh, let me get this straight, you making fun of ... Cisco?
No, infy
Come to HPE if you're ready to retire
First Q: why do you think you cannot get into FANG?
Because I applied and didn't get so much as a phone call back. Actually did interview with FB but didn't pass phone screen. Also, am an "experienced" hire but my experience was in mechanical engineering not tech/coding. Completed a data science bootcamp.
There are divisions in Apple and Google where mechanical engineers are highly sought for - have you tried there? What about Tesla?
Tier 0: Be your own boss Tier 1: Google, Facebook, Netflix Tier 2: Apple, Airbnb, Lyft, Uber, Square, Slack, Dropbox, LinkedIn, Robinhood Tier 3: Microsoft, Amazon, Yelp, Pinterest, Twitter, Salesforce, Zillow, Snapchat, Reddit, Spotify, Twitch, Nvidia Tier 4: Cisco, Oracle, Yahoo/Verizon, SAP, Intel, Adobe, IBM, Intuit, eBay, PayPal, Juniper Tier 5: Everything else
Lol @ Snap above Cisco...Pinterest, Zillow. You guys are literally insane.
Snap might be going down, but engineers are highly desirable. For pinterest,Zillow both are good companies with good engineers, so think its accurate I frankly wouldn't put nvidia in tier 2 should be along with Cisco, cant expect stock to grow so rapidly again and linkedin should be grouped with Microsoft
Cisco is absolutely lower tier than any startup.
Are you indian?
Cisco, HP, Oracle, IBM, Qualcomm, basically anything below the Sunnyvale area.
Are you dead?
