Like google or FB or Microsoft or JS or 2s or Airbnb etc Do you think we are stupid or unlucky or
No! I'm a bit taken back reading this. I feel no difference in the respect I have for people based on which tech company they work for.
Are you sure I certainly don’t respect people that work at companies like Cisco etc. why would you respect people that work at amazon because they can’t get into Google?
A personality can make me disrespect someone, not what they do for a living (unless it's illegal or unethical). For example, I lost some respect for you when I read, "I certainly don’t respect people that work at companies like Cisco etc."
You have to be quite insecure to judge a person based on where they work

I earn 150k (1 year experience) in Boulder without working in FANG. Pretty sure that's more than what guys at Amazon and Microsoft earn. Just because someone doesn't work in a famous company doesn't mean they don't earn money or aren't smart. Sṭop obsessing over company brand.
You are insecure about what Microsoft employees think of you for working at Amazon?
Yes
I think you (Djahdhsjs) are stupid. What a douche.
This is how a person whose mother used to always compare him to others as a kid, thinks. You were always pressured into performing and were given examples of your cousins who were doing better than you to coax you into working harder. As a result you have started judging people based on wrong things. Believe it or not, a lot of people aren’t used to judging the same way as you do. And I know this because I have a cousin just like you.
Mediocre engineers
Amazon is not all that bad actually. It is slightly better than MS in terms of compensation and slightly worse in terms of culture snd WLB.
You have some issues to work through. Working at FAANG is a matter of your choice if you think it's a good match for YOU. None of these companies are doing you any favors so placing such high regard for the company and their employees is a flaw in your character and a weakness. I would suggest looking into that. Source: Passed on two FAANG offers for my current job.
May I ask why you passed on two FAANG offers? Were you down-leveled?
There were multiple factors that helped to make the decision. The big one was that money was close to being the same, +- 30k with the highest offer being an extra commute hour away in each direction which to me wasn't worth it.
