I have been working for Expedia, since a couple of years and very curious to know, how it's perceived by others, as a tech. company. Although, sometimes people may call it a non-tech. company or an e-commerce company, I'd like to know, if it's indeed a good place to be for your career progression. Or am I better off going for an MS in Computer Science and looking for more challenging opportunities?
You are asking people who don't work at Expedia whether you should stay at Expedia or not?
I'm asking everyone.
Who cares about Expedia :-)
Hm... One of my co-workers was hired by LinkedIn recently. Maybe LinkedIn does. Though, I've been having the same thoughts too, that many people may not be caring about it. But, then that don't care attitude can be shown towards any organization.
What i meant dude that if you want to move out you have much better options, i have friends in Bellevue and its my view point
Are you in Bellevue or somewhere else? That makes a big difference. People answering are assuming you're in the US.
Expedia - a hang out place for all Amazon - LEs. True story.
This is kinda true. Several LE’s from amazon that I know rolled over there
LE means?
LE means?
OP: do employees of Hotwire enjoy the same perks and similar compensation as employees at Expedia ? I had an offer from Hotwire which I turned down since the compensation didn’t excite me much.
I guess the perks are very similar but not sure of the compensation. I too feel underpaid at Hotwire. Want to switch asap.
What’s the typical tc for sde’s at Hotwire in sf?

Do you really think Amazon is that bad
I hear WLB is pretty good over there, but pay and engineering quality isn't as good as FANG. That being said, staying there sounds better than going for an MS.
Why better than MS? Won't an MS enable me to upgrade my skills and move to a company with better pay and work?
lmao absolutely not (unless this is visa related or something).
