I have a BA degree in finance, but got my first job out of school as a data analyst doing the majoirty of my work managing SQL stored procs. After a year of that I quickly got bored and moved to a startup working as a backend software engineer. I was able to get in via refferal and was a lowly python scripter, hacking reports and automations together for our buisness side. After a year of that I was promoted into our engineering department working on our backend cloud services and getting into the nitty gritty. Full Experience - 1 year data analyst Almost 2 years software engineer TC 90k My question is what do you think my chances are to pivot over to a new company doing backend? Should I shoot for SE1 or SE2? Would appreciate all your thoughts!
Yeah seriously please do. I need more motivation to make the switch from an industrial engineering background, with a few years of ops experience and good knowledge of R, Python, SQL, etc.
Just try your luck and let us know.
