I see multiple postings for frontend & web. Who uses uber in web, is it for internal dashboards ? Whats the career path of frontend folks at Uber.
There is a lot of internal tooling (of varying quality). On the Eats side, there's eats.uber.com and restaurant.uber.com. Also, the restaurant dashboard (on the tablet used inside the restaurant) is react native. There's a blog post about that one. It is hard to get to the higher levels (5b+) if you primarily work on web (similarly with mobile, to be fair).
So what happens after level 5a ? Are front end engineers allowed to move to other roles if they are interested ? Like can a frontend engineer choose to work with Go and contribute to backend . Or is the distinction between engineers strictly enforced ?
So basically internal tooling ? Why is the pay so high ?
Significant percent of Uber Eats orders come through the web.
