What is it ? Is it applicable for all levels ? And is it still applicable during remote onboarding ? #google TC: 60 LPA
After onboarding they form some virtual teams with random nooglers of different teams and roles (swe, sre, pm, design etc) and then you choose a project idea (there are some sample ones or you can bring your own idea). Then you implement it and at the end demo/present it. You will be assigned a mentor who can help. The idea is to get familiar with googles tech infra like source control, tools, internal common frameworks etc. When I was there, many people actually stopped contributing on it after they joined their own team. I still implemented it and presented it. You are not evaluated on it and unless it is some really cool stuff, your team wouldn't care either.
Thank You!
60 LPA seems less for an L5. What is your YOE? You should negotiate more.
Dumn question here: What is LPA short for?
"tech immersion". Basically training to navigate google's tools/workflow/best practices etc .
Thank You. Would you be able to give me any more info about the length of the program, if it’s applicable for all swe levels and if it’s applicable for remote onboarding? Joining as an L5 in a month, just learnt that this is a thing.
~2-3 weeks. 3 in total but not all totally full of stuff to do.
