Experienced associate at PWC would be similar to a junior associate level in strategy consulting (McKinsey, OW, BCG etc). It would be similar in terms of pay and probably responsibility. At least that is what I noticed when I met people that did switch between the Big 4 and strategy consulting

No, it refers to associates with more than a year of experience at the firm, hence "experienced associate". It's not like an actual promotion, like that of the Senior Associate title, but in PwC's internal system, associates' title actually does change to Experienced Associate after year 1.
