Hello, i got $400K (over 4 years) of RSU in my offer letter. Is it average, below or above the median? I am fine with the Base salary so just wanted to check about the RSUs. Senior Engineer == P3
Don't you get 70k to 120k every year in RSU refresher at Apple? If it's all about money then why change?
Good question. Here are top three reasons for my move, mentioned in the order of priority: 1. My team and manager are the worst humans I have ever come across in my professional career, i am always very stressed and it has started to take a toll on my health too. 2. 20% increment in base and 100% increment in RSUs. I currently have around $200K unvested. 3. Better learning opportunity at the role offered at Tesla.
I agree with point 1 and 3.. I hate Apple as a company to work for.. but I like thier RSU refreshers year over year... Regarding your point 2: if Tesla won't give you any RSU refreshers for first 4 years, then you are moving to Tesla by taking a pay cut.. note: I have no idea about how good is Tesla in thier RSU refresher pay outs.. but I am certain that Apple is pretty good..
What is your team at Apple? I’m interviewing for both Tesla and Apple and I would not to join that team
It totally depends on you immediate manager and immediate colleagues. It would not be right to generalize based on the org name. But just FYI, i work in SEG. I can not give any more details about my team as it might jeopardize anonymity.
You will get refreshers based on performance. I think 400k is a good number for a senior engineer. Is Andrej your director?

400k is a hell of a lot more than I got for an initial grant as a Sr Engineer a few years ago. Refreshers in the first couple years of your progression seem reasonable.

I am offered only $350k RSU for 4 years for a P4 (initial offer). So $400k sounds good to me for P3.

Initial rsu may look good but their refresher is not as good as Apple. You just have to hope the joining rsu appreciate very fast to keep up or get promoted to get good grants
Recruiter told me the range of refreshers for P3 is between $30K to $150k, depending on the performance. Maybe thats false info?
150k is extremely tough to get. You are looking more at 40-60k for good performance. May be 2% of P3 may get 150k. At Apple 60% will get at least 90k for ICT4 and you can get 150 much easier at Apple
