I'll start. I work with a domineering engineer who was just made lead engineer. The power has gone to his head and literally everyone who works with him hates him and talks mad shit on him. They all complain about him to the higher ups in an attempt to get him fired and just follow his orders in the interim. Things are starting to get really ugly. People are setting up traps to build evidence for his firing. I sit back and watch the drama unfold while the rocks are thrown and giggle. What's your drama?
what org?
poor him. bad on you all for doing this politics to him
The usual political bullshit. I have a female coworker who is the apple of my bosses eye. She has issues working with over half our team, always plays the victim card, and is a sardonic bitch. Boss is a total pushover and doesn't do anything to defend or support us. Rates and promotes based entirely on favoritism with no regard for performance or contribution. Half the team spends most of the day on FB or looking for a new job. It's a shit show and I want out.
Why do you say โfemaleโ coworker? What do you mean?
Oh man "Half the team spends most of the day on FB or Looking for a new Job" cracked me ๐๐๐๐
well for starters Thomas pushed Nathan in the break room. Then Steven had a total shit fit with Nathan stole his favorite toy car. and this was just the first 30 minutes this morning.... I'm a remote SDE and have kids, boy the drama
awwww snap
Most haunting story that I've read yet...
no problem, my team is awesome! #amazonproud
how much did amazon pay you to say this?
nothing really, my team is really awesome and I really like to work there. But you made a good point, I could ask to be paid to say such a thing ๐ค
My boss's dog farted under my desk today. She claims it was my dog that farted and her dog would never do such a thing. Either way the only one who loses is me. Note: I love her dog.
imgur allows dogs...? ๐ค ๐
The bigger question is 'imgur has >10k employees??'
We had a superior that drove everyone nuts. Total douchebag, very condescending, no EQ what so ever. Tool bag comes to mind. Anyways, there was a "punch jar" going around. Every time you wanted to punch this guy, you'd donate to the punch jar. Once the jar got big enough, we figured it could go towards drinks or legal fees. I think it got up to 300+ but then he quit so no one could "claim" the prize. Great way to laugh about the situation. I.e. Coming from a meeting with him..."so yeah, put 20 in the jar for me" was a common phrase.
why didn't you guys just punch him?
I think I was the closest to doing it, but I actually felt genuinely bad for the guy. He has no chance out there...I have a lot of restraint and I believe, so I just let it go most times and just generally made his time at our company as close to hell as possible so that he would hopefully quit or get fired. Mission accomplished without a criminal issue.
None. We build software.
All my coworkers are leaving the company to go elsewhere. This is after several rounds of layoffs in the past year. And we're not hiring people to replace them. Except the growth team.
