Hey Blind, Last Tuesday I got a message from a recruiter at Facebook for a leadership position with their internal creative agency. I replied, with some availability to speak on the phone, as requested, and then nothing. No reply. Its been a week. When should I follow up? Is this normal?
Follow up based off how much you care. I do like weekly 3 times before I completely give up. But the longer it takes, the more it reflects the company. But like above said, HR is often a shitshow and useless so don’t read that much into it.
I got ghosted for 3 weeks when trying to get my job here. It's normal industry wide.
A month here
Recruiter could be on PTO. The req could be closed. Your email could have gone into a spam folder. But a week is awhile without a response. It's worth sending a follow up.
This. I’ve had candidates respond and I had no idea until I realized it somehow made its way to my spam filter. Am recruiter.
Recruiters pretty much universally suck
Errr on the side of annoying with recruiters if you really want the job.
They’re the absolute lowest entry point for tech yet wield a ton of power.
👹😂... And yield a very nice TC
Follow up. Recruiters are flakes at every company. I'm always chasing them down to respond to candidates. Keep your experience in mind when you become a hiring manager and make sure you respond promptly to people.
Recruiters are absolute idiots
You don’t even know what goes into our job to think this
Def follow up. They work on many roles and might have forgotten about you. And yes recruiters at FB aren’t very good

Recruiters are lazy, this isn’t unique to FB.
So should I bother to follow up?
Wouldn’t hurt. Might not help either. Just always be nice, they might’ve found someone else for now. But there’s always new jobs.
