My wife and I had the argument that TC is not the only reason people change jobs. We discussed specifics like TC, type of role, manager, kind of company, culture, wlb, tech stack, and perks. What are yours?
The savage kind.
Depends what stage in your career you're in tbh. Younger people generally put more emphasis solely on TC where people with more experience add in other elements such as wlb, company projection, benefits, etc...
It’s not. It’s one of the biggest reasons. Other big reasons are opportunities for growth or learning which eventually translate to higher TC down the line. But then there are reasons like better culture, better work life balance, better benefits, lesser commute or just a change of scenery which also play a role.
WLB, place where you can get sometime for learning - not just as part of job
Besides TC, work environment and work life balance. The higher the TC though the more tolerant I am... at least short term
Move to a different country and have a different lifestyle
Better commute and maybe a smaller company if I believed in them enough and the incentives were right.
Team
TC is not the only reason, but there’s always a TC for which I would change.
Everyone has a price
