Interested for tech and non-tech roles. At Amazon, non-tech basically only have option for shitty HP computers. They have bad screens/resolution that hurt my eyes over time and Windows crashes frequently with all SQL and excel tabs I have running. Very frustrated and curious how non-tech roles are treated elsewhere.
At google as non-tech I was given the option for a MacBook Pro, 15 inches, latest gen, works like a charm.

At Facebook, we can pick between MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga, or Lenovo ThinkPad T480s. Desktop PCs with 64 GB RAM are available on request too. Oculus have some more powerful laptops and desktops available too, and anyone can custom order a different type of device if needed, as long as the vendor provides corporate breakfix support. Probably 90% of engineers choose the MacBook, although many are requesting older models due to how horrible the newest MacBooks are. The infra type people (eg. People that work on Mercurial, Linux kernel, production engineering, etc) tend to stick to Windows or Linux rather than Mac.
What about at MSFT, everyone rocking surface books?
