What level should I be targeting to match my comp as a product manager
My total comp is around 380k right now. I did really well early on but promotion cycles are highly political so I’m not yet a 6 which feels like the ballpark I need to be in to get this comp matched at a company. I also feel like my likelihood of getting a 6 offer is low due to factors like my years of experience and coming in from outside which make 6 and above difficult to get. My comp is broken up into 155k salary, 215k equity, and 10-20k bonus Would google match? What about other companies like Netflix? Startups feels like a long shot so won’t even bother @productmanagement

Are you a L5 at FB? How much experience do you have?
L5. About three years experience mix of eng and product management. Been doing lead work in each role with driving and defining large scale strategy and working across company to execute and deliver wins across multiple products
3 years and L5 sounds really good. My friends who have been at FB for over 5 years as a PM are just L4. I guess Google would be just as political for promotions but might give you a salary bump.
