Honesty poll (no wrong answers; insults do sting): How much would you be willing to spend per month to outsource all of your laundry? Its almost 2020, straight to home service is trending up, its inevitable, but at what pricepoint? *Gain 3 extra hrs each week, No more buying detergent, No washer/dryer, No electric for washer/dryer, no folding, no mildew smell then rewash, etc. How much? $200? $150? and include rationale also, please. Im very interested to gain your insights! -Ryan
Who the fuck is paying $200 for someone to just to do laundry. My friend's maid does that included in their weekly service.
What if your friend maid dies?
That’s a valid point..
Every dry cleaner already offers this. Pay per pound or per item are most common models.
Do you think there’s a more progressive product offering instead of traditional pplb & ppitem? It seems like those offerings are not very attractive.
What do you mean by not attractive? Also changing the billing model doesn't create a new product and there is no barrier from stopping the existing players from implementing this billing model and leveraging their existing user base to win
Considering most people on this app probably already have free laundry I'm gonna say you pay us 20 dollars?
What if you got paid to let other people use your washer and dryer?
Hard pass for me. Wouldn't want folks in my house or using my appliances. Who knows what kinda clothes would come in. I have home use appliances, not industrial.
$200 seems insane for this service for basic laundry. I can’t imagine the market would be very big for this.
That is a high price point, for sure
I saw one Laundry app commercial in Facebook ads. Most major apartments have laundry and people with homes have dryer washer. people who stay in economically stressed neighborhoods go to Laundromat or other coin based laundry. They can not afford ~200$/ month I personally think it is bad bad business idea as such there is very low population who would outsource their dirty laundry 🧺
We’ve got two young kids and plenty of money. I would absolutely sign up for something like this provided I did not have to do any drop off / pick up.
Pick and Delivery service included definitely seems doable. Time better w/ kids and fam. I get that for sure.
I don't trust anyone to not fuck up my clothes.
Haha that is fair. What if the people washing the clothes had to go through a garment care state certified training program? Feel a little better?
That would be a good selling point :)
You can pay 200 a month for house cleaning + they do the laundry for you. Why would I pay 200 a month just for laundry? And no, laundry doesn’t take 3 hour a week, at most 30 min.
Interesting point! Maid services does seems efficient. I guess it would depend on the value of the clothing and how much you trust the maid service handling delicate garments.
Just go to a dry cleaner dummy
What if the dry cleaner went to you? A little interesting?
Let’s assume my company decides to do feasibility study on this idea. After going through basic program assessment/feasibility matrix, this program ( outsourcing laundry) will get shot down even before it reaches PMO ( Program Management Office). Mind you that my company operates in Medical device field but the tools to asses program/Project feasibility are pretty standard.
This is very interesting to me. Where could I learn more info?
While I ( or anyone else) can not share internal tools, please search project feasibility assessment. You can run down your idea through it before moving to execution phase.
