Assuming Im a single guy who occasionally goes out for events or travels within europe once a month for a weekend, tries to save 1/3 of my salary while living in a family friendly to affluent area in Berlin. What would be the recommended salary range here to afford all this? Regardless of the industry I work in. Its a strech question but I’d like some examples or recommendations based on your experience. As a single person, you are going to receive 3700 netto per month here. A good neighborhood in Berlin has flats of 80m2 ranging from 800 to 1200 euros month. So you will be able to save 1/3 of your salary but tightly
Damn, 15k per year saved doesn't sound so good if don't plan to become a citizen
Thanks this is insightful. How long have you been living in Berlin and what’s the YoY rent pricing increase you’ve noticed so far? I’m also looking into factoring this into my spending since I’d prefer not to keep moving apartments every 6 months.
