What tc can you get when working remotely?

I am an immigrant and I want to come back to my home country. I am considering finding a remote job. I am a SWE with 5 years of experience. What do you think: how high tc is possible? What good companies do you know, that can give me an option of working remotely? From what I heard it's impossible with top tech companies like Google, Two Sigma, Facebook. Anybody has different experience?

Not sure if this is possible as there are tax implications for them to pay you remotely. But I guess it all comes down to how much they want you.

It’s not illegal, see this article https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/us-companies-can-legally-hire-foreigners-living-other-rich-mba. And I personally know people working like that.

Companies may also take into consideration what average pay is in the area you are living. It may actually be why they are hiring remote, too expensive for them to hire locally, higher someone from an area with a lower cost of living to work remotely instead.

thats gonna be very hard because whats the difference between hiring you and hiring raj from india? Raj from india is good at english and prob gets paid 1/3 of your salary.

Yes, I got that it won't be equal to my US salary. Still 1/3 of my US salary in my home country would be really good, better than local possibilities.

Companies I have hired for use to have an onshore and offshore pay brackets. They were normally between 40-60% of what someone was worth to them in whatever team they were going to be sitting with. Anything more than that they felt they could find someone onshore. .
