What the f**k Apple?!

The reviews for the HomePod are terrible! What is going on over at Apple? You're releasing a late product with A quarter of the promised features.. anyone here work on that product?

You forgot the exorbitant price

IBM WtfGINNI OP Feb 6, 2018

That I expect from Apple. I dont mind paying a premium for brilliance. This is less than mediocre.

VMware nonamehere Feb 6, 2018

Brilliance? It’s already been done before by every other big company. And better...

Visa Yogic Feb 6, 2018

Siri came out way back and they took this long to come up with this

Google Appie Feb 6, 2018

Did you expect it to be good?

MongoDB BubDub Feb 6, 2018

I expected sound quality to be good, but for AI I was never sure.

Apple rndEuler Feb 6, 2018

It is not shipped yet. Anyone has hands on experience rather than some reviews?

Apple Small👐🏻 Feb 6, 2018

I think the reviews are very fair. No Spotify support? Locked in only to Apple Music walled gardens? They need to open it up pronto. And not be able to detect personal voices is a glaring privacy hole. Need to disable that option by default until it’s supported. Fix those two and it’s probably the best speaker to buy if you care at all about music. If all you want is a digital assistant, get an Echo dot for fiddy bucks. I think the features will come. I ordered mine and will get it this Friday.

Amazon Hooliganss Feb 6, 2018

Making/taking phone calls, pairing with android phones, Bluetooth speaker seem to be other points of contention.

Apple Small👐🏻 Feb 6, 2018

Anybody with an iPhone should know what to expect from Siri and would probably assume Siri on HomePod to be more or less a bit more smarter with respect to specific HomePod and music listening use cases. So I honestly don’t get the surprise that Siri isn’t as capable as they’re expecting. What are you really buying? You’re buying superior sound hardware. That’s what you’re buying. Apple made this thing primarily for music, and IoT/Digital assistant use cases will follow....hopefully....with better and extensible HomeKit and SiriKit features.

IBM WtfGINNI OP Feb 6, 2018

Yeah but you cant link it to your TV or play Spotify on it. Its garbage

Apple Small👐🏻 Feb 6, 2018

Certainly. Not supporting Spotify as a primary music service is wrong. I think airplay 2 will fix the TV issue, unless you mean it can’t be used as a generic Bluetooth speaker (which is also ridiculous). Just obvious glaring holes. My guess is the executives didn’t have everything ready and instead wanted to ship it doing one thing really good, and that’s essentially showcase the sound quality with just Apple Music at release.

Lyft iLyft Feb 6, 2018

I’ve only heard amazing reviews about the sound quality and how they’re using computation audio to make the listening experience phenomenal. I’d love to read the bad reviews to get a more even perspective. Can you post a few?

IBM WtfGINNI OP Feb 7, 2018

Just hit youtube and search 'homepod review'

AT&T DDM2K Feb 6, 2018

Why the fuck isn’t the Nest compatible with Apple HomeKit?

IBM WtfGINNI OP Feb 6, 2018

Cos its Googles shit

AT&T DDM2K Feb 6, 2018

Yeah. Amazon wasn’t too proud to add it for Alexa. Forgot Nest was a G product for a second. Wait, don’t they sell Nest in Apple stores?

Apple blurr Feb 6, 2018

The reviews are 100% positive on sound quality. Siri is lacking but i think Apple has to work on making siri competitive enough in the coming years. But that will be software upgrades.

Flagged by the community.
Apple hitthet Feb 6, 2018

Bitter much? If you try harder next time, the interview will go better.

Apple vRaN64 Feb 6, 2018

^ LMAO

Apple Ludacris Feb 6, 2018

It’s not “siri on a speaker” it’s “a speaker that has siri” - it’s first and foremost for listening to music.
