Hello everyone, I'm a senior software engineer and working on really cool AI engines. I am really interested in the project/work assigned to me, but I hate the company policies. I believe that the policies are not employee friendly and I feel really frustrated while working. I quickly want ask you guys what should I do, whether to stay or jump ship? Reason for staying: 1. Project is interesting: working on one of the best project in whole organization Reasons for leaving: 1. Min 9 hrs/day work time required 2. No WFH(temp. WFH due to pandemic) 3. No stock options 4. Internet speed is so slow that you can't stream a 480p video without buffering (if you open a webpage with lot of images like image tab in Google search, it takes forever to load) 5. All the operations happens on Internet Explorer (where the browser itself says "browser is out of date, use MS edge" ) 6. In this pandemic they are not allowing employes to leave the city (want to go hometown and work from there) 7. You have to go through metal detector while entering and leaving the office Reasons that don't matter but want to tell you: 1. Don't care for employee fitness, office gym is paid ( not even included in TC) 2. Only things you get free is cold drinks and coffee 3. Extreme low budget team outings (once it was INR 300($3.99)/team member) #samsung #software
Work for American companies-they have the best work culture.
Yes snoopi, if I decide to switch I will target American or Indian origin companies only. I believe free environment is the best environment for work.
How do you type all that shit and not include TC? I'm going to assume low.
an average US SE earns 8 times more than an average Indian SE If you are an average US SE then yes my TC is low but if you are an average Indian SE then my TC is 5 times yours
Why even the TC matters? The highest paid employee in my organization is experiencing the same thing
For me tc would be the dominant factor. If you have enough money you can create whatever kind of work environment you want by retiring early or starting your own company.
Location and yoe? No harm in trying outside. I feel even if other companies give you some perks, if your work won't be as exciting as it is right now, you won't be too happy.
India. I have Masters + 1 yoe
