How to maximize the benefit of green card? Do companies give different consideration/salaries to green card holders? Are there jobs other than tech industry that are more profitable but limited to green card holders/citizens?

I have seen around 20K bump in the offers after getting GC.
i agree with GC you have more negotiating power. so not only you may get better offers outside you can negotiate in your current company of you do a great job. if you were to apply at oracle you woukd get rejected if you had GC or Citizenship

Start a business (you can legally start one even without green card, but you can afford to fail at a venture with a green card)

It’s the truth. We need to close our borders or we are doomed. Though if you yourself are an H1B, I would see why you’d disagree with me. Why should US students who went to school and spent thousands be replaced by someone who came from abroad for cheaper prices? This is assuming they are equal skill.
