A recruiter from Facebook Reality Lab contacted me on Linkedin and wanted to arrange a call. My questions are:

1: what should I except from this call?
2: Should I prepare something?
3: what are the right questions to ask him.

The role that he explained on Linkedin looks very interesting and relevant.

  • From my exp he’ll only want to see if you’re interested in the job, confirm your qualifications, and make sure you’re not a psycho. It’s more an intro than an interview

I had a very different experience. I was asked behavioural “tell me a time when xyz and focus on impact” questions. Caught me off guard because I was expecting typical recruiter screen

  • I just had a call with a FB recruiter this morning. She asked me to tell her about my background, the current project I'm working on, tech stacks, why I wanna leave my current companies, etc.
This is just a casual call to get to know you and see if you're qualified/ interested in the job. I don't think you need to prepare much. This call lasted for about 20 min, at the end I asked her about the salary range since she mentioned the level I'll be interviewing for, but not TC.

1: I have yet to schedule a call. I was sent a link via email to schedule the call.

2: He mentioned about the role generally, but no specific details.
