Hello, I've been contacted for an SE 2 role at Wayfair, Ky and the HR said that there will be an initial round of tech interview with karat and once cleared, couple of onsite interviews will follow. With all this backlash going on how the internal process is messed up and the tech stack being really old, i'm thinking is this even worth it ? Suggestions please.
If a company does not even want to spend time interviewing you, i do not see a reason they will respect you in the future. Fuck them off.
Karat serves as a third party service for initial interview rounds, I had it for Compass. Has nothing to do with company not wanting to interview OP. OP, use the opportunity, doesn’t hurt as it is video interview.
Expect at least lc hard question on dp and graph for the karat interview.
should i expect lc hard even for SE 2 role ? i mean, it's not like the interview will be for Sr SE or something. I have started LC since couple of months and i'm getting a hang of it slowly. I definitely need more practice, especially in the above 2 topics that you've mentioned.
Yes you should expect it. At least cover all the common dp patterns and graph problems before the interview.
Starts with a couple of SQL questions for the first 10-15 min which are related to joins, aggregations, etc, then give an LC medium question then will be given a little harder one ~ LC hard. Revise topics related to the two-pointer, sliding window, trie, topological sort, merge intervals.
Update ?
Might not hurt to do practice with them. It’s not like you are going onsite, and have to use PTO.
