What would you call this position? (Infra)

Current title is network engineer. Half of work is managing app level firewall policies and site to site connections. Occasional config of switches, classic neteng stuff. We are branching out into having hybrid networks so doing work on cloud network routing and troubleshooting cloud resources is becoming more prevalent. We’re a Palo Alto shop, working on the cert. Other half of work is keeping the firm operational tech wise - windows AD/O365, managing our saas platforms, spinning up VM workloads, basically assisting systems engineers. Big emphasis on security being that we’re a financial firm. Small tech team. Details because, it’s the needful: Location: East coast TC - ~130k variable with bonus YOE - 2

Jokes aside, been here a while I wouldn’t say that is the case. Management is very transparent on desire for my growth (team will eventually expand) and long term stay.

It’s tough for infrastructure people to break into FAANG-type companies.
