TTC 300k What's the weather, scene, making new friends, social life, housing, demographics like there? #Amazon #Microsoft #seattle
Rainy.
We hate Amazon, love socialism, avoid personal interaction, and are high all the time. Also it rains all. summer. long. Don’t move here.
It doesn't rain all summer long.
Wet
Google "Seattle freeze", it'll tell you everything you need to know.
Meh, I still have yet to experience this “Seattle freeze” after years of living here, at least in the traditional sense (it’s freezing cold here this week, though). Tbh, I see more posts complaining about how hard it is to meet people in SF than here.
So many Californians moved here, so no native Seattle freezers here anymore
Weather blows from late fall until early spring. Constant dense, grey clouds. This winter has been especially hard. That aside, it’s great. Money to be made, good companies to work for, lots to do, generally easy to meet people, good rental market, solid dining scene, etc.
Fall begins in July, spring begins late June
A depressing shithole.
Weather is meh....Been here 10+ years, it felt like the winters were becoming.milder and less rainy (ie global warming helping us..) but this winter feels like a return to an extened cold grey rainy season. Cant really comment on social scene....(never been good at making friends in any city, so....). Its definitely gotten more expensive in the last 5 years and i'd expect trend to continue given how much tech companies are expanding their presence here.
Moved to Seattle about a year ago. The city itself sucks major dick. It's got all the negatives of living in a major city with basically none of the positives. Dirty, crime, high rent. Tons of dudes (mostly software engineers so none too interesting), the women are...less attractive than average IMO (having lived in other high COL areas), and little noteworthy night life. If you're someone who thinks "culture" in a city is a shitty foreign restaurant or some broken down buildings like many people here, then hey, you might like it. There are some nice surrounding areas, depending on what you like. Want a quiet, clean, safe city to raise your family? Bellevue is just across the lake. Kirkland isn't too bad either. There is lots of nature and the scenery is quite beautiful when it isn't rainy. The summer here was excellent. Mild weather, bright and sunny most days. Loved it! The fall and winter has been...ugh. Rain nearly every day and dark. It is rarely hard rain, though. Mostly light, constant drizzles. Overall, not a bad place to make some money for a couple years. But I have only been here a year and am already itching to get out.
Best place to make good money if u bear with the weather
