I want to spend as much as needed but not anymore. All I want is something that will take me from A to B reliably. Dont want any new credit pulls, so no financing or leasing. I also dont want a dud that will break down in a year. ideas?
New Honda Civic. 18k, it will last 200k miles with less than $300 a year in maintenance.
Outdated. Honda Civic base model costs ~21k these days
Ah. That’s what i paid my 2016 in 2016.
Used Civic is even better
18k where?
Alfa 4C
In what world a 4C is cheap?
That starts at 67k. I’ll save my money. Thank you.
Default answer will always be Civic.
Civic is at least 20k. Is there nothing good that’s less than 20k?
Why do you have to get a new car? You can find used 5 year old civics for like 10-12k
Corolla or Civic, I like their hatchbacks. Could look into the Mazda 3 also.
How many miles do you plan to drive per day and how many years you plan to keep it? I always prefer to go lease to buy route as it gives me enough time with the car to pull the trigger to purchase it.
I am happy to lease. In fact that's preferable if they don't do a pull on my credit. Ideally I want to get a long term rental.
They will definitely pull your credit. Typically a lease for base civic would be around 100-140 per month for 10K miles. I would also recommend getting a VW Jetta if cost is an issue. The lease prices would be cheaper than civic or corolla. Also, the end of year specials would be good as the Sales teams would want to get the annual booking numbers. So you may get a better deal if you close before 12/31

Is Unlimited PTO a scam or a blessing?
The general recommendation if you're going used, Civic or Corolla. Make sure it hasn't been used as an Uber.
What about Yaris?
Yaris is good too. If you're looking at a Yaris their Honda equivalent would be a Honda fit/jazz depending where you live.
