What's a jump in comp that makes switching worth it

I work in a data science role, where I'm building models for large customers in GCP then providing training and handing off my work. TC $350k with 6 YOE. I'm happy and had no intentions of leaving. Facebook reached out for interviews. It's a product analytics role, don't know much else at the moment. What's a jump in total comp that makes it worth it for me to seriously consider? Last point worth noting is I expect promo this cycle from l5 to l6.

Congrats you’re in a great position! What’s this data science role called? How is wlb? I’d ask for 400+ in your position assuming some wlb is going to be sacrificed - and ask to match vacation days

Data Scientist - Analytics, Data Integrity and Organic Experience. I agree and think wlb will be worse. Life at G is cushy, and I hear FB is more cut throat.

My thought is $450k TC is what I need to make a jump to FB. But it's helpful for me to hear other opinions. Who knows, maybe someone recently went through a similar process and can give a perspective I haven't considered?

Married, no kids yet, but we'll start planning soon. So this is probably the last selfish jump I can make before I need to consider others more seriously.

You won't be doing any serious statistical or machine learning work at fb as a data scientist...especially in product analytics. Your TC and refreshers will also be lower than SWE. Even is they offer you an IC6, don't take it.

Interesting to hear this perspective. Would you say that's generally true in FB, or is that a reaction primarily to product analytics? What are the roles that do skew to stats/ML work. Thanks for the response.

No enough info about your current company to offer advice. Is the company doing well? How do you know? Are they expanding into other markets? Is it a new or old company? Do you like and trust the leadership? Are they publicly or privately held? Does your compensation include stock, and if so, when does it vest (how much would you be walking away from)?

Depends: Low TC may require +100% to almost always trigger a jump but high TC magic raise is +30%

I feel the opposite. When I was lower paid, a 30% raise would have changed my lifestyle considerably. I left my first job gladly for a 12% bump, but I just turned down an offer for a 12% bump. Or, the marginal utility thing above. Mostly my perspective was: what would I make in the next 2-4 years? Would the other offer, in cash, perks, commute, and WLB come out ahead?
