Got an offer for a product manager role at lyft and have my start date in a few weeks. There are rumors on blind about a possible layoff happening soon. The stock price is crashing and the company hasn't come up with any moves to save their ass. What's happening - are they just expecting rideshare to magically bounce back? Thoughts? #lyft #uber #tech

How hard is it to get your first job at Google/Facebook?
Lyft is kill 'no'
Meanwhile Amazon wondering why his comment has more likes than the post itself 😂
Likely they have a new strategy and are are hiring accordingly? Also, ride sharing has to come back eventually. As long as they can ride out 2020, hopefully 2021 will bring back riders
Over $2.5B cash on hand not counting the latest convertible. They can ride it out.
All puns intended
Ppl are just being paranoid
OP at what level did you get in?
When you say "rumors", make sure it isn't that same one guy spreading them.
What same one guy?
The same guy ended up being right the first time around. Layoffs are coming
You’ll be fine, just don’t expect the stock to go up. Lyft might have another lay-off but it won’t affect you. Unless they end up in a really ugly position, in which case you’ll be happy to get that severance while the company dies.
Liked for clarity of your thought.
Very few new hires were laid off the first round, you should be fine 👌🏼
Very few new grads were laid off either, and we all know they gotta go
Joining a company that is firing good people just to hire others? No sir, that’s not fine. When Airbnb & Uber dumped talent on the market they stopped hiring to reassess what their employees can do before dumping them. This is what I would want my employer to do. I personally know a strong pm who was laid off. He could be great for all the teams at Lyft I’ve been speaking with. I cleared my interviews with Lyft recently and am concerned to join TBH. Will most likely join other companies instead.
Layoffs very probably, bankruptcy is a serious possibility IMO. Maybe not this year, but next.
Lol!
I am sure google or amazon will buy it if it comes to that.
Not a right time to join Lyft
Why are they still hiring then ? doesn't make sense at all
One more lay-off?
