What's the Mgmt scope of M1 and M2 at Facebook?

Are M1 at Facebook managing other M0 and M1? Or is that an M2 scope?

Is there a way to tell for which I'm interviewing? Context: I'm not interested in a big step down to manage a single team.

  • M2s manage other managers, some M1s might but many don't. M0s can only be found in some parts of the org

      how common is m0? do you really have to hunt for a org that allows m0 or is it quite common?

    • In my org it's common but I don't have enough of an overview of the whole company to give a general take. As far as I know, M0s are never hired, you can only be that going from IC5 -> M0. Coming from the outside, you have to pass the M1 bar

  • It all depends on your background and your interview - and many M1s manage managers - so internally nobody knows if you are M0,1 or 2 .
