Amazon has the following perks: Amazon Technical Academy Associate2Tech Machine Learning University Career Choice Amazon Apprenticeship but whats the catch to qualify for these perks? do you have to sell you soul for 2 years? do they still offer you the same pay even if you become a SWE?
MLU... No catch. Get in and you learn on the job. There are different levels of course difficulty but most are built for engineers.
The only thing I know about on that list personally is ATA. I have applied and waiting for the decision to happen on Dec 18th. But basically if I get in, I will be in an Amazon run "coding bootcamp" for 9 months and if I make it through that successfully, you do 3 months of internship, and after that, you are usually offered a job as an SDE1. The catch is, if you fail out of ATA while in the program, you have 60 days to find a new job at Amazon or else you're terminated. Another catch is, while in the program, you only get $3500 a month before tax while in the entire program which for some people is alot less than they are making now. However, you will not be required to stay at Amazon. However, most people who complete the program will say at least a year because having Amazon SDE1 on your resume will help your career greatly. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
