I got a verbal offer for backend engineer from one of my target companies...but I guess I'm so inexperienced that I stupidly said I wanted to be a fullstack engineer. Recruiter said they would need me to go through a single Javascript interview. So not a full loop. I scheduled it a week later...but when time came, I got cold feet and I said fuck it, I'll just be a backend engineer. She said no probs and she said she will need to team match. Recruiter said she would've tried to get it to me by EOD last week Friday...but I haven't received anything yet. It's been 2 weeks since onsite and I haven't gotten a written offer yet so I'm getting paranoid. I'm in a really shitty, paranoid mood. I'm constantly refreshing my email to see if I got anything. What do I do?
Since you are so nervous next time make up your mind before talking to recruiter/making decision. Gotta think through things esp when dealing with company and people processes. At the very least, ask to give your decision by email. Learn to be patient, in a few days if still no response escalate to higher up in Hr
Okay...yea lesson learned. Just get the offer. And then once you're in, do an internal switch.
First time I heard they interviewed you again just for different role.
No it was an extra single interview. Not a full loop.
Yeah. Even extra single interview should not be there. You can learn any technology if you can crack interview loop.
If you haven’t already, send a gentle reminder to the recruiter and ask for an update. After that, go workout or do something active to get your mind off things.
This. Other than that, don’t stop interviewing elsewhere. It’s not a done deal, at this point. Having more offers only gives you more leverage anyway.
Well we spoke last Thursday. So it's been 2 business days only. Maybe I'll wait until tomorrow to email. I should've just said backend from the beginning. I feel like an idiot.
