What's the general timeline for summer internship recruiting?

Over the last 1-2 weeks I've applied to several summer 2022 internships. My resume is okay, I've had it checked over by a mentor in the industry and I had referrals for every app I've submitted. No replies for phone screens (or rejections) for any of my apps.

Does the process with large companies like Msft, PayPal, Lenovo etc. normally take this long for summer internships? How long does the whole process take?

    I'd say most students aim for signing an offer before Spring 2022. Most interviewing happens in Fall, like Aug - Nov. And yes it can take long for companies to respond so be patient and keep applying! This is for US btw, not sure about other countries
