What’s the long-term impact to a company for doing layoffs?

I am young in my career so this is all new to me. I have heard that reputational damage is the biggest negative of layoffs like at Airbnb, lyft, and uber so that when a company rebounds it will struggle to win top talent again. other effects: - More attrition because current employees are scared they are next - Perception company is lower tier from being higher risk so candidates less likely to accept offer over other companies - lower hiring bar? Anything else I missed? YOE: 1.5 TC: $120k #career #tech

internal politics, tensions and back stabbing as people want to save their own ass and not to be the next who is booted

Tbh it’ll probably allow Uber and Lyft to become profitable. Airbnb is going to have a lot of money problems. No ipo for another 3-5 years. Also Airbnb will be less attractive cause their stock has no upside at this point.
