Hey Guys! Just recently got an email offer from VMWare and was hoping to get 2 questions answered. 1. I cleared all rounds of interviews and got a proposed offer on email. My BV has started but I am yet to get an official offer. It has been about 10 days since I accepted their proposed offer. While the recruiter is pretty proactive and has been calling me often on to check in, I'm wondering if this is normal for the offers to take such a long time to "go through their system" and get the required approvals? Am I being strung along? Is this some genius recruitment strategy? OR is VMware just generally slow with stuff like this? 2. Even though I've already accepted, what do you guys think of this offer? I have 8 yoe and this offer is for a Senior MTS in Palo Alto Base - 170k Variable Bonus - 17% RSU's - 100k over 4 years, vesting every year TOTAL TARGET COMP - 223k + Joining Bonus - 10k EDIT: Just got the official offer on 10/24!
Wow! That’s a really shitty offer
Wah! :(
low for senior eng and 8 YoE but probably typical for VMware
Seeing everyone's replies, def seems to be a low offer compared to FANG and Uber/MS
Really good offer for a Sr MTS @VMware
Immigration review maybe..Just talk to your recruiter could be just a delay you will get your offer
I was offered something like this for 4 YOE - Sr. MTS role didn’t accept it. VMWare is known to string people around for a long time. Use them to match a better offer, if you can.
Good offer! Congrats!
Thank you!
We used to attract candidates from MS and the like. Kaiser Permanente is an odd choice. Either you LeetCode really well or you know how to keep costs really low. That said, if you're a Desi, the base is good. RSUs are low, maybe a little more could help. Always negotiate otherwise they'll take you as too easy going and will abuse you so to speak once you're in. Which BU are you joining?
RSU is low, base is decent.
Thanks! So this is the cloud something BU and the team is "VMware R&D IT and Emerging Technologies Group". Any good? Thoughts about people and culture?
Very low RSU
