Please post your logic behind your decision, if any. ESPP - Employee Stock Purchase Program #ESPP
Wait what, what is qualified disposition?
Sale date > 1 year after transfer date AND Sale date > 2 years after grant date
Thanks. Orcl stocks doesnt grow so im better off selling and buying something else
Do ESPP shares have the same tax rules around short term capital gains? I just joined an ESPP program and am curious if I will get taxed extra if I sell immediately after our 6 months periods.
It depends - as the discount is usually /sometimes treated as income - ask your pay toll and/or brokerage Yes, the taxes are absolutely different than normal stonk selling
I have enough exposure to my company's stock through unvested RSUs. I think you should liquidate ASAP. Would you really be holding tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars of your company's stock if you didn't get it through a special program? Diversify ftw.
I would argue that you should sell your RSUs immediately given that you pay tax on it at vest. ESPP on the other hand can be held until they are qualified disposition. Thoughts?
Nobody gets filthy rich from diversification
Covered calls?

I hold ESPP for a year so that I pay long-term capital gains tax of 15%. But alot of advice says to sell immediately but I enjoy the "gamble". https://www.thebalance.com/when-to-sell-espp-2388745 https://rentthemortgage.com/always-participate-in-the-employee-share-purchase-plan-espp/#Should_I_sell_ESPP_Immediately https://www.fool.com/investing/2017/08/02/how-to-get-the-most-from-your-employee-stock-purch.aspx
I like to sell at 50% gainz (after discount) - must hold for a year
