Im planning to leave my job (and company) in 2 month. when should I tell that to my manger? im waiting for a big RSUs and then leave..
Would it be better to give a longer notice to set up a proper hand off?
If you are management or very senior, yes. Otherwise just stick to 2 weeks.
2 weeks is good enough
2 weeks and start documenting your transition plan now. they will anyway ask you and it will suck to rush to document past minute
Don’t Don’t Don’t...Most companies don’t give more than 2 weeks even if you give 1month notice for example. This happened to my friend and his notice was cut short to 2 weeks.
2 weeks before.
You shouldn't risk big vesting.... resign on the day of vesting... even if they walk you out, it will be counted as working day and you will get your stock If you resign early, there is a risk of being walked out and you will loose stocks if that happens
If you're at Amazon, there's still time to get PIPed. Don't let that severance go to waste. Steps: 1. Give very bad Connections feedbacks 2. Signal that you're the one giving bad feedbacks 3. Mention in your 1-on-1 that you're looking to switch team 3. Get dev-listed 4. Ask manager to expedite PIP 5. Walk out with severance 💰
Easy to say
2 weeks notice is good but be prepared to be walked out immediately
