I’m a non-technical ops L3 at Uber and have been doing this job for a year, and am 2 years out of school. I’m still learning a lot but I’m definitely underpaid v. similar roles at FAANG. I’ve thought about recruiting elsewhere but have two considerations: 1. Would I learn as much elsewhere? Even if I don’t, how much is that XP worth vs FAANG brand name? 2. I won the H1B lottery but won’t expect to get the actual H1B until later this year. There’s also a green card application process I could start now, which I’d probably get in like 2-3 years as I was not born in a country with a long queue 3. Thought about going back to school but the GC process might screw with the timeline Alternative exits would likely be any company with a strong bizops org like G, LinkedIn, Dropbox, etc. Also Cruise interests me. Would appreciate any thoughts on this!
I’ve not seen a biz ops team at Amazon but I guess entry level business analyst is around 85K in Seattle for base. For non-technical, I’d imagine a better exit would be an MBB role rather than another tech firm. Tech companies are great for technicals but I think you’ll learn more in a non-tech role with a more traditional business path. What’s the comp for an operations manager at Uber? Just curious.
Learning should be align with TC, and they should go hand in hand, otherwise you are either over qualified or underpaid
How much are you under paid
80k base and minimal RSUs, I imagine I could pull at least 95-100k at FAANG based on what others have told me
