Trying to understand the likely liquidity timeline on an offer. Any insights?
Weren't there rumors of Bill Ackman taking stripe public via a SPAC for a while?
There is no real reason to go public right now
They started granting RSUs in 2016. Those RSUs have a 7 year expiration. So if they don’t IPO by 2023, then they will either have to buy back those RSUs or shank a bunch of early employees. This gives partial incentive to IPO by then, I guess.
Do pre ipo companies layoff prior to ipo, because it necessarily helps in some way ? Curious..
Can you sell the pre-ipo RSUs back to the company (or to someone)?
There was a well-sourced story in the WSJ that said late 2021/early 2022, and it got zero notice or mention 😂
"Now, Stripe is laying the groundwork for an initial public offering it could pursue in late 2021 or early 2022, according to people familiar with the matter." https://www.wsj.com/articles/how-payment-processor-stripe-became-silicon-valleys-hottest-startup-11618306201 How do we know this is well sourced?
Believe who you like, as always
My guess would be Q1 or Q2 2022
Never
Why never?
