Joining Amazon office at Macy's building on pine street. I am looking for some suggestions about where to look for apartments (1B1B) ? Budget: 1500, Commute (in bus): 30 mins YOE: 8.5 TC:185K Age: 30 Married and no kids.
I don’t think you will get anything for 1500
Not even outside of Seattle downtown? 🙄 I see 1b1b in downtown itself for around 1900-2000 per month.
$1500 is awfully low if you are looking for a decent place.
Any specific place you could recommend? I understand I may need to increase my budget to 2000 for a good neighborhood.
northgate is good, easy access to buses and highway
You might find something in the greenlake/greenwood area
Even a studio with 575 sq ft in chinatown costs over 1500 in this season.
Look on Zillow. There are some good places for 2k+
1bhk for $1.5k.. sry bro you would get in tacoma
For a 30 min bus commute you’ll pretty much have to be in Seattle itself. Unless you’re looking south of downtown (neighborhoods in that area like Beacon Hill and Columbia City are “gentrifying” - you won’t have a lot of coworkers who live there) you might be hard pressed to meet your budget but 1500-2000 can get you a 1bd in pretty much any neighborhood as long as you don’t need a brand new luxury apartment. You might be able to find something in Capitol Hill but if you want something quieter or safer I’d also recommend looking at Queen Anne, Fremont, Wallingford, or Ballard.
Thanks much! I am not looking for a brand new or luxury apartment. A decent and safe place will do 😊

Tip : Don't be a hippie ass and try to live in a downtown studio apartment. You need a relaxing place for a family.
Thanks! I am open to choose between Bellevue, Redmond, Ballard, Fremont, Green Lake, Capitol Hill etc. as long as it is within 25-30 min commute by bus.
Avoid Capitol hill, look at Bellevue. It reminded me of an ideal residential place. Not sure about others
