It is widely stated that you should buy stocks of the companies which are profitable. Do I need to dig up their quarterly sheets to check it? For instance they say that Twilio is profitable and recently the stock has been low. Looking for an entry point there
10K; Financial Statement. Check for the EBITDA, Net Income, Adjusted Pretax, Balance Sheet...
Which part of this accounts to profit?
Net income to summarize. If you check on the P&L (or financial statement or income statement), you will check for the net income, also referred to as profit or earnings. I would recommend also to check EBITDA which is the profit BEFORE taxes. Finally I would suggest to check the debt of the company on the balance sheet.
Just YOLO into anything on WSB.
Itโs all already priced in. Just buy diversified index funds
Its always priced in until it goes up. Look at ROKU and SHOP for this years return
Priced in doesnโt mean that prices donโt move...
The stock price has nothing to do with being profitable (at least nothing you can take advantage of).
There is atleast some correlation . Look at this years IPO . Zoom did pretty well while uber and lyft tanked
Zoom is down 35% since July.
VTSMX Buy every company stock
Also remember to not only check the financial health of the company but also the analyst expectations and rating (buy/sell). If you have more analysts telling people to sell, that means the earning call was not good and the trend for the company might not been as good as the financial statement might be showing.
Twilio Financial Statement, the 10Q (Quarterly) looks bad. For the quarter, the loss per share is ($0.64). This is how you see the stock is going down. The operating expenses are too high compared to the revenue. They are losing money.
